Galtaji Temple Pink City Jaipur

This ancient pilgrim site amidst hill was one of the principal seats of the Ramanand sect of Vaishnavities. The captivating pilgrimage center is also associated with sage Galava who performed penance here. The sacred site has a temple dedicated to the Sun God (which is the only one of its in this part of the country) built by Diwan Kriparam which can also be reached through a 2.5kms. climb from the Suraj Pol. The temple spires and peaks overlooking a picturesque gorge providers an impresive view of the Jaipur City. The temple, pavilions and holy kunds along the lush landscape makes it a very delightful spot. To the east of the temple is reservoir or a tank which is perennially fed by a never failing spring of pure water failing from a gaumukh. Many piligrims visit this sacred site to take a holy dip in the kunds, the water of which are believed to possess curative powers.Nearby, are located various other ancient temples, beatiful garden and kiosks.
